The South Glens Falls Central School District is pleased to announce the introduction of two new services available to our families.

ReachOut Counseling Services

The district will be introducing the new online ReachOut Counseling service this month. ReachOut is open to all members of our school community. ReachOut is a 24/7 talk, text, or chat line that is designed to support our students day and night. The sessions are confidential and provide easy access to professional counseling services from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Students, staff, and parents can contact ReachOut by calling or texting 518-808-3030. From there, they are connected to a Gaggle ReachOut Counselor through the method of their choosing (talk, text, or chat). If students need additional support, they can be referred for further counseling in the district or via the Gaggle virtual therapy system.

This new service is part of SGF's commitment to supporting overall well-being throughout a students' educational journey. While built as a crisis counseling resource, ReachOut is for more than just crises. Students can reach out to talk about anything that might be causing stress or anxiety, or even if they simply need to talk through a situation that is on their mind with a trained professional. We are excited to add this new tool to our wide range of mental health supports in the district.

Parents As Partners Webinar Series

The district will also be collaborating with Parents As Partners on a webinar series that will provide families, caregivers, and staff with 10 live Zoom webinars across the school year. All sessions are recorded and will be available for the remainder of the school year. Each live webinar will take place at 6:30 p.m. and will cover a wide variety of topics including school avoidance, vaping, social media, and open communication.

The webinar series is hosted by educational consultant and trainer Jennifer L. Bashant, Ph.D., LMSW, MA, founder of Building Better Futures LLC. Her approach is trauma-sensitive and strengths-based, and seeks to foster collaborative relationships between educators, students, and families as they work together as partners in learning. Jennifer has been trained in Collaborative Problem Solving and the Mindful Schools curriculum for students ages kindergarten through grade 12.

As a certified DiSC Trainer and a certified EQ-i 2.0 Trainer, Jennifer also works with administrative teams, building leadership teams, and teachers on emotional intelligence and how to communicate more effectively. Please see the included schedule with links to sign up for each session virtually. We hope you will consider participating in this new collaborative learning platform!
