2024-25 Back-to-School Guide

School supplies provided by the district for UPK-fifth grade

Again this year, the South Glens Falls Central School District will be providing all school supplies, with the exception of headphones, for all students in grades UPK-5.

*Please be aware that any supply lists you may see from big box stores are generated by the stores themselves, and are not created by our district.

The list for Oliver W. Winch Middle school can be found here. It was also sent via ParentSquare and will additionally arrive in the mail with student schedules.

High school supply lists will arrive with student schedules, which are being sent on Friday, Aug. 23.

Teacher assignments, class schedules and bus information

Our teacher letters for UPK-5 were mailed on Friday, Aug. 9. Schedules for grades 6-12 are set to be available Friday, Aug. 23.

Families will be receiving two transportation letters this year. The first will be mailed the week of Aug. 12 that will ensure that we have the correct information about our students so any necessary changes can be made. The second will come later in August and will include bus numbers and times*.

*Please keep in mind that for the first few weeks of school bus pick up and drop off times are approximate. Please have your child(ren) ready a few minutes early and be prepared for an early or later drop off as drivers perfect the routes.

Free meals, LINQ Connect
and school menus

Every student will receive free breakfast and lunch for the 2024-25 school year.

If you would like to add funds to a meal payment account for your student for other items - such as snacks, ice cream, drinks, and doubles - visit the LINQ Connect website. Visit the Food Services Department page for more information.

School Menus are posted on both our ParentSquare App and on our website via our Dining page

Household information collection form

Even though the district is offering free meals, families are asked to fill out the Head of Household Information Collection Form that will be sent home in the coming weeks. This form provides vital information to the state, which can lead to extra funding and grants for the district. It may also help some families qualify for reduced or free college applications, assistance with college entrance exams, and other services.

Please be sure to complete and return this form when it is sent home. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

Photo opt out forms

SGFCSD staff often photograph and film students at school events and activities for promotional purposes. These photos and videos are sometimes posted on the district website and/or featured on SGFCSD social media channels including Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. Confidential information is never shared.

Families who do not wish to have their photograph taken for district social media, building and newsletter purposes need to fill out the Do Not Photograph Request Form*.

*Please note that the form closes on September 3, 2024. Families who wish to be added to the list after the Sept. 3 form closure, MUST email the Communications Specialist at mcavoyminork@sgfcsd.org to be placed on the list.

Contacting staff members

To contact a member of our teaching or coaching staff, please use the ParentSquare system.

For administration or general questions, the Let’s Talk system is available for you. We will also begin offering a chatbot system later this month to answer any general questions.
